Istanbul time explained
Istanbul has been on permanent summer time since 2016, when Turkey stopped putting its clocks back in the autumn. The country now sits three hours ahead of UTC all year, which means it shares a clock with Moscow despite being considerably further west.
Istanbul does not observe daylight saving. Its offset from UTC is the same all year round, which makes scheduling with it noticeably simpler.
Reaching Istanbul
Istanbul keeps the same clock as Moscow and sits between the European and Gulf working days, so it reaches both comfortably. New York only becomes reachable in the Istanbul evening.
