The short version
EzyClock has no accounts, no sign-up and no database. It is a set of static files — there is no server that could store anything about you even if we wanted it to. Every clock, timer and stopwatch calculation happens on your own device using your own system clock.
What follows is the detail of the few places where data does leave your browser, and why.
What we store on your device
Your preferences are saved in your browser's local storage. This stays on your device and is never transmitted to us:
- Your chosen theme, numeral font, 12/24-hour setting, seconds on/off, clock mode and reduce-motion preference.
- Your world clock city list and the order you arranged it in.
- Your soundscape preset and volume.
Clearing your browser data removes all of it. Nothing in there identifies you, and none of it is readable by us.
Location and weather
Nothing about your location is requested unless you ask for it. The clock page shows a live sky that needs only the time of day, and no permission prompt appears when the page loads. Location is requested only when you tap the weather chip in the corner.
If you do allow it, your browser gives the page your approximate coordinates, and those coordinates are sent to two services to turn them into a forecast and a place name:
- Open-Meteo (
api.open-meteo.com) — returns the weather and the sunrise and sunset times for those coordinates. - BigDataCloud (
api.bigdatacloud.net) — turns the coordinates into a city name.
Your coordinates are used for that request and nothing else. They are not stored by us, not saved to your device, and not linked to anything about you. Declining, or simply never tapping the chip, costs you nothing but the weather — every other part of the site works identically.
Advertising
This site is funded by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads and, in some regions and with your consent, to personalise them based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
You can control this yourself:
- Opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings.
- Opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies at aboutads.info.
- Read how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com.
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, a consent notice appears before personalised advertising cookies are set, and you can change your choice at any time through that notice.
Analytics
This site may use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which of the tools people actually use, so we know where to spend effort. Where it is active it records things like which page you landed on, roughly where in the world you are, and whether you started a timer or a stopwatch. It does not record anything you type, and we never attempt to identify individuals.
You can check whether it is running on any page: open your browser's
network tab and look for a request to googletagmanager.com.
No request means no analytics on that visit.
You can block it entirely with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on or any standard content blocker; the site works exactly the same either way.
Other third parties
- Google Fonts (
fonts.googleapis.com,fonts.gstatic.com) — serves the typefaces. Loading a font exposes your IP address to Google, as with any font or image served from another domain.
That is the whole list. The sky behind the clock is drawn by your own graphics hardware from a few lines of code shipped with the page — it is not a photograph or a video, so nothing is fetched from anywhere to display it.
Notifications
If you start a countdown, the browser may ask whether you want notifications. This is only used to tell you the countdown has finished, so the alert still reaches you when you have switched to another tab. Declining costs you nothing but that notification — the sound and the on-screen alert still work.
What we never do
- We do not ask for, collect or store your name, email address or any account details.
- We do not sell or share personal information.
- We do not have a server-side database or logs of our own.
- The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.
Your rights
Because we hold no personal data ourselves, there is nothing for us to export or delete on request. For data held by the third parties above, contact them directly using the links in their sections. If you have a question about anything on this page, email hello@ezyclock.com or use the contact page.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Continued use of the site after that constitutes acceptance.
