An alarm for the time you are already at your desk
Pick a clock time, press set, and the page counts down to it. When it arrives the time turns red and pulses, a chime plays, and — if you allowed it — a browser notification appears even if you have switched to something else. You can stop it or snooze another five minutes.
The alarm is stored as a moment in the day, not as a number counting down, so a browser throttling the tab in the background cannot make it fire late. Set it for 14:30 and it goes off at 14:30. If the time you pick has already passed today, it is set for tomorrow instead.
The honest limitation
This is a web page, not an app installed on your phone. It can only ring while the page is open. Close the tab and nothing happens; lock a phone and the browser may suspend the tab, which can delay or silence it entirely.
So please do not use this to wake up for a flight. Use your phone's own clock app for anything you genuinely cannot miss — the operating system guarantees that one will run, and no web page can make the same promise. Where this one is good is the case it was built for: you are already at a computer, the browser is already open, and you need to be pulled out of what you are doing at a particular time.
What people use it for
- Leaving on time — an alarm for the meeting, the school run, the end of the working day.
- Cooking — when the thing needs taking out at a specific clock time rather than after a duration.
- Medication and breaks — a nudge at the same time each day while you are at the desk.
- Shared screens — a classroom or studio where everyone can see when the alarm is due.
If you want to count down a length of time instead of waiting for a clock time, use the timer. To count up from zero, use the stopwatch.
It remembers
The time you set is saved in your own browser, so a refresh restores the alarm and it keeps counting to the same moment. Your theme, numeral font and sound preference persist the same way. Nothing is sent to a server, and there is no account.
