EZYCLOCK

Online Timer

Set a countdown in hours, minutes and seconds. It sounds an alarm and shows a browser notification when it reaches zero.

A countdown that finishes on time

Type the hours, minutes and seconds you want and press start. The ring around the readout empties as the time runs down, so you can judge how much is left from across a room without reading the digits.

The countdown is stored as the moment it should finish, not as a number being decremented. That distinction matters: a decrementing counter falls behind whenever the browser throttles a background tab, and accumulates rounding errors every time you pause and resume. This one cannot drift, and pausing and resuming is exact.

Alerts that reach you

At zero it plays a sound and, if you have allowed notifications, shows a browser notification — so it still reaches you when you have switched to another tab or another application. Through the final minute the readout and its ring turn red and pulse, giving you a warning before the alarm rather than only at it.

You can turn the sound off in the Customize panel if you only want the visual alert. Reduce motion turns off the pulsing while keeping the colour change.

What it suits

If you want to count up from zero and record laps instead, use the stopwatch.

Frequently asked questions

Will it alert me if I am on another tab?

Yes. At zero it plays a sound and, with permission, shows a browser notification that appears even while you are working elsewhere. The countdown tracks a target time rather than a decrementing number, so a throttled background tab cannot make it finish late.

Does it work with the screen off or the phone locked?

Not reliably. Phones suspend browser tabs to save battery when the screen is off, which can delay or silence the alarm. For something you must not miss on a phone, use the phone's built-in clock app. On a desktop with the browser open, it fires on time even behind other windows.

How long can I set it for?

Up to 99 hours, plus minutes and seconds. It works the same for a two minute egg or a multi-hour countdown.

Can I turn the alarm sound off?

Yes — open Customize and switch off "Sound on countdown end". The visual alert stays: the readout and ring turn red and pulse through the final minute.

What happens if I refresh the page?

The countdown is cleared. It runs entirely in the page and is not saved, so reloading or closing the tab cancels a running timer. Pausing and resuming is safe and exact.
