What a 15 minute timer is for

Fifteen minutes is a quarter hour: the length of a proper break, a short revision sprint, or the amount of cleaning that visibly changes a room.

What people set it for

How this timer behaves

The countdown is stored as the moment it should finish, not as a number being decremented, so switching tabs or minimising the window cannot make it run late, and pausing and resuming is exact. Through the final minute the readout and its ring turn red and pulse, giving you a warning before the alert rather than only at it.

It does not start on its own. The alarm is generated in your browser, and browsers keep audio silent until you interact with the page — so a timer that started by itself would be a timer that finished in silence. One tap on start is what makes the sound work.

Frequently asked questions

Is fifteen minutes long enough to study?

For review and recall, yes — short spaced sessions beat long ones for retention. For work that needs deep concentration most people find twenty-five or forty-five minutes fits better.

Can I keep it open on a second screen?

That is what it is built for. Full screen mode hides every ad and the header, and your theme and font choices persist between visits.

What if I refresh the page by accident?

The countdown is cleared — it lives entirely in the page and is not saved. Pausing is safe; reloading is not.
